Position Overview:

BFW Construction Project Managers www.bfwgroup.net  is seeking a highly motivated Director of Business Development to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for targeting and building new client relationships, oversee our marketing initiatives, overseeing the RFP and RFQ process, and managing business development projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development within the construction/architecture/engineering industry and the ability to build trust with both customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on RFPs and RFQs, and develop or leverage research platforms, including AI
  • Successfully respond to RFPs and RFQs, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Source and secure private, non-RFP proposals and contracts, leading to successful closings.
  • Oversee BFW monthly newsletter via creating articles and managing content.
  • Manage and update BFW website, collaborating with the Project Assistant to implement changes.
  • Maintain and update a mailing list of 13,000+ contacts, working with IT to ensure data security.
  • Design and deliver BFW’s social media strategy, implementing content, engagement, and analytical feedback to increase relevance on platforms such as LinkedIn, and Facebook. 
  • Attend pre-proposal meetings to gather information and present proposals.
  • Actively participate in industry organizations such as WTS, CREW, ULI, BIA, GBCA, URA, PDC, BOMA, PA Housing Alliance, MD Affordable Housing Coalition, NC Affordable Housing Coalition, and NAOIP.
  • Lead BFW into State and Federal Government contracting.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Development Manager or Director.
  • Proven track record in business development, demonstrating successful closure of large projects.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
